With how the map is laid out there are very few perfect spots to build and few good spots to build, most of them are just ok. Now for my opinion, I cant say I am disappointed but I definite don't feel the same amazement from the original game. they have also added less conventional loot boxes that bring a fresh feel to the loot in the game. In addition to its beautiful map there are some very interesting new mechanics such as the maelstrom and the surge (have not fully explored these). The map feels large due to how it is laid out (I believe it is 70-90% of the original) and its large open spaces. I have roughly explored about 2/3 rds of the map and am visually astounded by all of the amazing sights. The map itself is beautiful with wide open plains, gorgeous valleys, sprawling lakes, and giant forests. keep in mind that I generally play single PVE.
